Wednesday already! We had friends Leanne and Jameson from Spokane visiting us for the past few days, which was fun--my girls can never get enough attention. Soccer season is pretty much consuming our family time lately. Henry loves the outfit, the equipment, the snacks, the kids, and the coaches. The actual playing of soccer? Not so much. It's not that he doesn't like it, it's just hard for him to grab onto a competetive strand of thought in his head to actually want to play against other kids. He'd rather just ask them if they wanna be his friend. Also, he is very busy wiggling all his loose teeth during the games. He's trying to make some money from the tooth fairy. He will be getting his wish on October 10 when five (!) of his pearly white baby teeth will be extracted to make room for orthodontic hardware. Ka-Ching!
We Netflixed the Wonder Woman TV series from the 70s for Olivia, and the girls have become obsessed with Wonder Woman and her wristbands of steel. Grace, whose attention span for watching television usually runs to about 10 minutes, can sit glued to the set for hours at a time. This is, in fact, why I am blogging right now. I'm headed out this weekend for some girl time with my sisters and friends, so I'm trying to get all the laundry done. I've learned not to cook meals in advance, since they don't get eaten. A sample "mom's away" dinner: fish sticks AND hot dogs. And nothing else. Yum. And they'll probably watch inappropriate TV. Or Wonder Woman, which appeals to everyone but Henry. Jack likes the cheesiness of it--he thinks it's hilarious. Mitch likes it for, um, the invisible plane.
