Thursday night was Henry's school curriculum night and ice cream social. At the boys' old school, I would say the turn-out to these things was about 25%, and that's being generous. I'm ashamed to admit that although we've lived here nearly a year, this was the first school function that we've gone too. When we walked into the gym for the ice cream social, it looked like the whole town had come out, and it was an even bigger shock to realize we actually knew a good portion of these people. I also discovered that Henry's tales of first-grade woe are largely for my benefit, as the teacher assured me he was one of the happiest, funniest kids in the class, and after volunteering in the classroom, he does seem well-adjusted, so hopefully his perception of first grade will catch up with the reality.

The rest of the week has been a blur of soccer practices, school, and soccer games, so I don't really have anything to report. Henry was extremely disappointed that his team jersey wasn't sponsored by Shisel Construction, like one of the other teams. "I wish I had Shizzle on my jersey!" Speaking of shizzle, Olivia is calling me to the bathroom, and that's never a good sign...
