Horrors! I arrived home on Friday to find 10 giant boxes waiting on the porch for me. Somebody I may or may not be married to ordered a buttload of Halloween props and decorations. It was like Christmas for the kids going through the gruesome treasures that lie inside. A few things had to be relegated to the garage, but Olivia (my resident scaredy-cat) was surprisingly approving of most of the stuff. The worst part was that both of the girls' costumes arrived way too big, so they had to be sent back. Plus, they reeked of chemicals. No worries, though, because yesterday we went down to Seattle for Lucy's birthday party, which was fun! They had a bouncey house! Anyway, on the way home we went to one of those Halloween superstores and both girls picked new costumes. Olivia stopped dead in her tracks when she spied the Wonderwoman costume. She's never seen/heard of Wonderwoman, but she knew she had to have that costume. I Netflixed it for her when we got home. Grace picked an enormous rennaissance princess crushed velvet-hoop skirt thing which she is actually wearing as I type this. Jack picked a mullet wig, which helped offset the cost of Grace's costume, and Henry is going to join the thousands of other boys this Halloween as Jack Sparrow. Since it's Mitch's 40th birthday this Halloween, I told him he could pick out my costume (I had veto power, of course--like I want my muffin top spilling out of a sexy french maid's costume....), and quelle suprise, I'm going to be a rennaissance bar wench. Whatever.
