In Seattle at the beginning of soccer season, we would get our detailed schedules well in advance of the first practice, along with uniforms and a zillion forms to fill out. Yesterday I got a phone call:
"Hi, this is Soandso, and I'm Jack's coach this season. The first practice is in a few hours, and our first game is in two days. I'll need him at the game about 15 minutes early, because it looks like we're getting our uniforms before the season is over this year!"
And today:
"Hi, this is Coach Whatername, and I'm Henry's coach. Our first practice is tonight, so we'll see you there!"
Ah, Coupeville, you're such a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants kind of gal.
Mitch took the day off today, and I mentioned that I was thinking about taking the girls to Costco (a four-hour prospect) while the boys were at school. He was so excited, he handed me his car keys so I could drive in comfort and have dvds for the girls. I don't know what he did at home while the house was empty, and frankly, I don't really want to know. But he's been very happy since our return. Probably porn and beer, but the treehouse got nearly finished, too, so who am I to complain?
Also, Happy Birthday Mom!
