We went to the Island County Fair yesterday. Mitch took the day off so we could go when the crowds were at a minimum. Because? Have you met my husband? Not a big fan of crowds. Or people in general. Anyway, it was very cute and very small. We made the kids go through all the animal and craft barns with us before we shelled out for ride tickets. Here, the youngest three are admiring some soft, downy chicks. Awwwww. Henry was a big fan of the chicken barn and the dog barn. Grace liked the (surprise!) "Cute! Baby! Goats!" and the "Cute! Baby! Chicks!" and also the "Cute! Baby! Alpacas!" Olivia was all about the horses, and Jack was all about the eye rolling.
Lovin' the kiddie rides.
Henry convinced me that he was brave enough for the Octopus, the Worst Ride Ever Created. Here he is before it got going. Shortly after this photo was taken, Henry's head disappeared as he slipped below the seat in terror. I'm trying to get the carnie to stop the ride, but am being ignored. Jack is laughing, nice brother that he is. Finally, when the ride ended, Henry wobbled down the steps to me and burst into tears. Nothing an elephant ear wouldn't fix, though.
Those teeth go really well with the farm exhibits...
