My girls are turning four next week. When I asked them what they wanted for their birthday (besides a pony party), Grace said she wanted her room to be "FANCY AND BEAUTIFUL LIKE A PRINCESS GARDEN!" Just like that, with the caps lock on and everything. Olivia agreed, but also added, "With horsies on the walls." No caps, but she's not a caps-lock kind of a girl. At top is their boring old room, minus the toys (you can see why they wanted it FANCY). These are the pics of their new FANCY room. Click on the picture to make it big. Note the chandelier with pink roses on it that I tracked down. When Jack came home from a sleepover yesterday, he took one look, and said, "yuck." God, I love boys. I can't even imagine a four year-old boy asking for a room makeover for their birthday. Not when there are so many action figures to be had. The full-length mirror was Grace's idea. After I showed them their room, she said, "you know what would look perfect in here, mommy? Your beautiful FANCY mirror in your closet."
"But that's my mirror, Grace."
"Oh mommy, you don't even use it."
Because one look at me and you can tell I don't use a mirror.
