All shiny and clean, walking on the wharf.

Last night was the girls' end-of-the-year party at preschool. This is a lame picture, but I couldn't get the flash to work. Anyway, they're dancing on stage with the class to 'YMCA'. Each child got up onstage individually and told the audience what they want to be when they grow up. Lots of princesses, firefighters, astronauts, and one pro baseball catcher. Grace gets up there, walks to the edge of the stage and makes herself as tall as possible. With a booming voice, she seeks me out and yells, "MOMMY!!! I'M SHY!!!!!!" Oh, and you in the back row, in case you didn't hear me, "I'M SHY!!" Then she whispers into the teacher's ear what she wants to be when she grows up: 'a mommy with a baby coming out of her tummy.' When Olivia went up, she just went right to the teacher to whisper in her ear: 'a pet doctor'.

Jack had a friend there, an older sibling of another preschooler, and it was interesting to see him interacting in a way that I wasn't used to (sullen, and just sooo over his uncool parents). He was animated, and even got up onstage with the preschoolers and danced to 'YMCA'! Ah, thank you God, he really is flesh of my flesh, not 100% Mitch.
