You can tell it's spring around our house because the front porch is littered with muddy soccer shoes and our eyes are all swollen shut from allergies. Henry decided to give soccer one more try this year, and we're all happy he did, because he loves it. He's the least aggressive kid on the team, yet more aggressive than I would ever have expected him to be. He's even protecting his expensive orthodontia from the ball.

In the Pacific Northwest, you play in any weather condition except thunder. As long as you remember your striped fingerless gloves with skulls on them.

My girls are so in tune with each other on the field that it often becomes a bloodbath of six year-olds left in their wake. Even Grace is aggressive. Olivia is a killer defender because she's not afraid to take anyone of any size on. Grace likes to play out front where all the attention is. Which comes as no surprise to anyone.

Mitch has begun his long commute to Redmond. He averages about 5 hours in the car every day. Starting next week, he will be staying in a furnished apartment 3-4 nights a week until we sell this place. So far, only crazy people have been interested in the place, but still no offers. However, we remain optimistic! Things will be much easier when Mitch isn't having to drive so many hours.
